Six Months to go (what do I need to do???)

Ok so there is six months to go until your big day and your asking what else needs to be done:

    • Think about your reception theme, this means colours and overall decoration.  What do you want on your tables?  Flowers, candles.....there are so many choices!!
    • Choose a florist - think about your flowers for the ceremony, reception and of course for the bouquets and button holes.
    • Think about what you would like for your wedding cake and start getting quotes to help you decide on your perfect wedding cake.
    • Thank about what you may need to hire for the day..do you need a marquee, chairs, red carpets etc, and organise them for the day (hire, lend etc)

Your Wedding Timeline - One year before

Choose a season, date and time for your wedding.
    • Think about the type of photos that you want of the day. The light at the end of the day is considered to be the most flattering and sunset photos are fantastic for your wedding album.
    • Consider having your wedding on an alternative day to a Saturday. You may find that this saves you money and also that it means you can get a venue that is otherwise booked.
Choose where you want your ceremony to be held
    • Book your ceremony venue as early as possible.
    • If having a religious ceremony ask about any meetings or premarital counselling you may be required to attend.
    • If you decide on an outdoor venue consider a Plan B in case of bad weather.

    Choose your reception venue
    • Ask friends for ideas.
    • Think about what you would want from your ideal venue.
    • Have a clear of idea of how many people will be attending.
    • Set a budget.
    • Meet with the wedding coordinator at your favourite venues.
    • Ask for written confirmation of all details discussed.

Start to think about your dress
    • Set a budget.
    • Collect ideas of your ideal dress.
    • Create a mood board - consider both bridal and non bridal inspiration.
    • When choosing a style consider how it will look in your wedding photos in years to come.
    Choose a photographer
    • Set a budget.
    • The photos of your wedding day are a permanent record of your special day consider what look you want for your wedding photography, look in magazines etc and make mood board of looks you want captured.
    • Call a selection of photographers. Make appointments to meet with them and view their portfolios.
    • Compare quotes and check there are no hidden extras.
    • Put down a deposit as soon as you make your decision. Photographers can be booked months in advance so act quickly to avoid disappointment.
